Who may make a claim
The warranty applies to the original purchaser for products supplied by Spot On Shutters, subject to proof of purchase and the order details needed to identify the product. It is not transferable unless Spot On confirms otherwise in writing.
What structural and colour warranty mean
A structural warranty covers a manufacturing defect that prevents the shutter from performing its intended structural function under normal indoor or stated application conditions. A colour warranty covers an abnormal and material colour failure within the applicable period. Normal ageing, minor batch variation, natural timber variation and changes caused by the installation environment are not manufacturing defects.
Conditions and exclusions
To the extent permitted by law, the voluntary warranty does not cover:
- incorrect measurement, assembly or installation not performed or expressly accepted by Spot On;
- use outside the stated application, including exposure of an indoor system to weather, excessive heat, moisture or unsuitable chemicals;
- accident, impact, misuse, neglect, unauthorised alteration or repairs by another party;
- building movement, an out-of-square opening or surrounding substrate failure;
- normal wear, routine adjustment, cleaning marks or consumable components;
- natural timber grain, texture or colour variation;
- freight or handling damage not reported within a reasonable inspection period; or
- failure to follow the supplied care, maintenance or operating instructions.
Care and maintenance
Remove dust with a clean soft cloth, microfibre duster or gentle vacuum attachment. Use only a lightly damp cloth and mild cleaning solution where suitable for the material. Do not use abrasive pads, solvents, strong chemicals or excessive water. Operate panels and louvres using their intended controls and avoid forcing a component that is obstructed.
Making a claim
Submit the order number, purchaser name, installation address, a description of the issue and clear photos through the support enquiry form. Spot On may request additional photos, measurements, the affected component or access for inspection before deciding the claim.
Available remedy
After assessment, Spot On may repair or replace an affected component or product, or provide another remedy required by law. Exact colour matching can be affected by product age and material batches. Removal, reinstallation, access and transport costs are handled according to the order terms, the cause of the issue and applicable law.
